5 Ballad and Vocal Concerts to Enjoy Together at Year's End

If you want a year-end show where you hear not just the songs but also the singer's stories, Rothy's second concert is a good fit. As the title This Is My Home suggests, its concept is inviting the audience into a home where music and stories are shared. Even if you're not a fan who knows lots of songs, it can be a starting point for anyone who wants to slowly get into Rothy's music.

The concert is on Sunday, December 13 at 7 p.m. at YES24 Wonderrock Hall. It's listed at about 100 minutes, which makes it easy to compare running times with the other options. All seats are 99,000 won, but the same price doesn't mean the same view, so check the details. It's a different venue from the similarly named YES24 LIVE HALL, so confirm the location you booked on a map before heading out.

If you want to hear voices in harmony with a friend or partner at year's end, take a look at Noel's Noel Sanjang (Noel Mountain Lodge). It's a nice choice for planning time listening to songs together in the wintry atmosphere the show's name evokes. Rather than expecting a specific song to be performed, listen again to a few Noel songs you've always loved before you go, and sharing your impressions on the spot becomes more fun.

It takes place twice at COEX Auditorium on December 19 and 20, with different start times. Plan your meal and trip home around about 120 minutes of show. For R and S seats, it's best to compare not just price but the actual sections and locations. A show being listed on a ticketing site doesn't mean seats remain for the performance you want, so check after selecting the date.

If you're looking for a year-end ballad concert outside Seoul, take a look at Baek Z Young's Daydream show in Daegu. It's one performance of a national tour introduced with the concept of stepping away from everyday life for a moment to face the songs. If you've always loved Baek Z Young's vocals, you can think of it as a plan to wrap up the year while talking about the music you want to hear together.

It takes place on December 19 at 6 p.m. at the Grand Hall of Chunma Art Center, Yeungnam University. It's sold as the Daegu show, but the venue is on Yeungnam University's campus in Gyeongsan, so calculate the travel time from your starting point separately. Compare VIP, R, and S seat prices along with their actual locations, and look into getting home after about two hours of show. It's best not to apply other cities' tour schedules or seating layouts directly to this performance.

If you want to spend Christmas Eve with music, Ha Dong-kyun's solo concert AFTERGLOW is a candidate. It's a stage that suits people who choose shows for the lingering resonance of a voice and its songs. Share some Ha Dong-kyun songs you love with the person you're going with, and make time to talk about how the same songs feel live.

It takes place once, on December 24 at 7:30 p.m. at YES24 LIVE HALL. The listed running time is 120 minutes with no intermission, so it's easier to finish eating and any other preparations before the show. Choose between VIP and R by looking at the actual seat locations, and think ahead about getting to the venue near Gwangnaru and getting home afterward. Check the date so you don't mix it up with another year's schedule just because the show title is the same.

If you're looking for plans on Christmas Day or that weekend, consider Lim Han-byul's Christmastar. It's a year-end concert with the concept of sharing feelings through song at the end of the year, well suited to anyone who wants to listen with a focus on singing. Apart from exchanging gifts, it's a good pick when you want to make time to sit together and focus on the same stage.

It runs at YES24 LIVE HALL from December 25 to 27, but the three performances don't all start at the same time. Friday is at 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m., so you can plan your meals differently before or after the show. The show runs 120 minutes with no intermission. Check the seats for each performance and the actual locations of VIP and R seats, and if you book a discount, also check who it applies to and what proof is required.
