From Brunch to Pizza and Burgers: 7 Western Restaurants in Seongsu-dong
A meal comparing pasta, British food, and sausage dishes
On a day when you're eating Western food in Seongsu-dong, try broadening your options beyond a plate of pasta. Pasta where you choose the sauce, pizza to share, chicken burgers, and a full brunch spread each suit different kinds of get-togethers. Comparing restaurants that take a different direction, like British food or sausage and plated dishes, also makes it easier to find options that match your group's tastes.
We've included seven places: Numero Dos, Darobe, Chamanda Seongsu, Le Frique, Seongsu Darak, Seskmensl Main Branch, and 37.5 Signature Seongsu. They're spread across Seoulsup-gil, Sangwon 1-gil, Yeonmujang-gil, and the Seongsui-ro area, so look at both the menu and where you're starting from when choosing where to eat. We cover different ways of ordering, from bread-centered meals to pasta, risotto, and meat dishes.
Numero Dos, Darobe, and Le Frique take an afternoon break, while Seongsu Darak has no mid-day break time, so how you time your visit differs too. Choose your spot depending on whether it's a late-morning meal, a late lunch in the afternoon, or a shared dinner with a group.
Numero Dos
At Numero Dos, you choose your dish based on the pasta's sauce and ingredients. Alongside amatriciana, carbonara, and vongole, there are shrimp oil, spinach cream, and mushroom oil pastas. You can split them into seafood noodles versus vegetable and mushroom options, or compare oil-based and cream-based sauces. If you're ordering two or more plates, try a combination with different sauces, or decide based on each person's favorite ingredients.
The scoglio pasta comes in oil, rosé, and tomato versions, so even similar dishes can be split by sauce choice. The restaurant is on the 1st floor of 35-9 Sangwon 1-gil, a different spot from the heart of Yeonmujang-gil, so navigate by the address. Hours are listed as 11:00–21:00, with break time from 15:00 to 17:00. When two or more of you are dining together, mix and match dishes depending on whether you'll share different sauces or each have your own plate.
Darobe
Darobe on Seoulsup-gil is a pizzeria where pizza is the heart of the meal. Compare the toppings based on the published menu, including the namesake Darobe and Margherita Buffalo. When several people share pizzas, the amount differs from a meal where everyone orders their own. Decide whether to add other dishes or stick to pizza, then match the types and quantity to the menu on the day you visit.
The current restaurant is on the 1st floor of 51 Seoulsup-gil. Enter this address for directions so you don't confuse it with the former address in older write-ups. Hours are listed as 11:30–21:30, closed Mondays. Break time differs: 15:00–17:00 on weekdays and 15:30–16:30 on weekends. If you plan to eat before or after a walk in Seoul Forest, check the break times for each day and the on-site guidelines first, and leave plenty of time for your pizza.
Chamanda Seongsu
Chamanda Seongsu is a restaurant serving British food such as beef Wellington, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie. There's also pasta and risotto, so you can pair a Wellington or pie with a different kind of dish. Start by deciding whether to share meat dishes or have each person pick a noodle or rice dish. If a particular dish is the reason for your visit, ask ahead whether it's available that day and how long it takes to prepare before making plans.
There's also the Hyde Park salad and a mushroom and ricotta cheese salad. The restaurant is on the 1st floor of 28-12 Seoulsup 2-gil, and it's listed as opening at 11:30 on weekdays and at noon on weekends. The afternoon break also differs, 15:00–17:30 on weekdays and 15:00–17:00 on weekends, so plan carefully if you're visiting between lunch and dinner. On days you're going for a specific dish, check availability and the required cooking time as you set your meal plans.
Le Frique
At Le Frique, you eat a signature chicken burger with sides. The menu lists the SIGNATURE and the special burger SICILIAN, plus sides made with potatoes, eggplant, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes. The signature burger lets you choose a spice level, so decide how hot you want it before ordering. The special burger and some sides may change with the seasonal lineup, so put together your order based on the menu on the day you visit.
It's located in unit B103 on basement level 1 of 9-16 Yeonmujang 5-gil. Rather than looking only for a street-level storefront, it helps to check the floor and unit number inside the building. Hours are listed as 11:30–21:00, with break time from 15:00 to 17:30. Last orders are at 14:30 for lunch and 20:30 for dinner. Plan your arrival so you can order before then. Check the burger spice options and that day's menu before you order.
Seongsu Darak
At Seongsu Darak, the meal centers on the Darak omurice, Darak rosé pasta, and spicy crab risotto. There's also a pork neck steak, corn gnocchi, and katsu sando, so your choices split into noodle, rice, and meat dishes. Decide first whether everyone picks the same type or you share different plates. Combining pastas or rice dishes with different sauces lets you vary your meal within a single menu.
You can also add cream onion fries or truffle fries. It's located on the 2nd floor of 20 Ttukseom-ro 9-gil. Hours are listed as starting at 11:30 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends and public holidays, running until 21:15, with last orders at 20:30. There's a separate notice that it operates without a break time on both weekdays and weekends, which is useful when planning a late lunch in the afternoon. Plan around both the closing time and the actual last-order time.
Seskmensl Main Branch
At Seskmensl Main Branch, you can choose dishes like currywurst, schnitzel, cordon bleu, and goulash. A meal centered on sausages looks different from one where you pick another meat dish. There's also white ragù and Napolitan, which you can compare if you want to add a noodle dish. For unfamiliar dishes, read the menu descriptions first and decide whether each is one person's main or something to share.
Caesar salad, tomato soup, mashed potatoes, and a cheese platter are also on offer. If you're with a group, decide on the main dishes first, then adjust how much to order depending on whether you'll add sides or share several plates. It's on the 1st floor of 7 Seongsui-ro 14-gil, open 11:00–23:00 and closed Mondays. With both mains and sides on the menu, it works for lunch or dinner. Plan around the kitchen's hours on the day you visit.
37.5 Signature Seongsu
37.5 Signature Seongsu serves bread-centered brunch along with pasta and risotto. There's a classic American brunch, a Monte Cristo sandwich, and Berry Berry French toast, as well as butter shrimp rosé pasta and myeongran (pollock roe) oil pasta. Even if your group is split between toast and noodles, everyone can pick their own dish at one restaurant. Start by deciding between sweet toast and a more filling brunch plate.
There's also cube steak pilaf, chicken cream risotto, eggplant lasagna, and several salads. The restaurant occupies floors 1–3 of 41-19 Yeonmujang-gil. Hours vary by day, listed as until 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays and until 21:00 Sunday through Thursday. Weekdays show a break time from 15:30 to 17:00, so if you're meeting in the afternoon, check which day it is. If you plan to have brunch, time your visit to when those dishes are available.
For pasta, decide on the sauce and ingredients you want first; for pizza and burgers, decide whether you'll share with your group or each have your own. If you'd like a brunch-style meal, you can compare places where you can pick both bread-and-egg dishes and pasta or risotto. On days when you want to step away from familiar menus, dishes in a different direction, like Wellington and shepherd's pie or sausages and schnitzel, are also worth a look.
For a late lunch, check whether there's no break time, and for dinner plans, find out what time the kitchen closes. Use the current address for directions so you don't miss a pizzeria's former location or the floor of a basement-level restaurant, and check when brunch menus are served as well. Settle on one or two dishes you want to eat, then add a walk around the neighborhood to make the most of your mealtime.
