Domestic Farms Worth Visiting Just for the Grassland Scenery

The charm of a farm cannot be explained by animal experiences alone. The gentle grassland, ridges, grass swaying in the wind, and the wide-open sky create a travel rhythm that is different from mountains or the sea. This list gathers actual farm-themed destinations where the scenery changes as you walk, offering great spots for photography or a moment of rest, from the high-altitude farms in Daegwallyeong to the volcanic hill areas in Jeju and the forests in Hongcheon. Rather than just taking certification photos, we also considered walking routes and physical stamina.

The same farm can show completely different faces depending on the season and time. In spring and summer, there's greenery and wildflowers; in autumn, there are silver grasses and long shadows; and in winter, the snow scenery is attractive, but wind and ground conditions can vary greatly. It’s important to decide whether to use shuttles or tractor carts, or how far to walk, while preparing for weather conditions like perceived temperatures lower than the actual temperature, fog, and UV exposure with appropriate outerwear, hats, and water. Safety and a timely return time should come first over views.

Grassland travel is best experienced by appreciating the changes in light and wind at one location, rather than moving quickly between many places. Instead of only aiming for lookout points, connect forest paths, grazing sites, and resting benches to walk at a distance that suits you. If you are with infants or the elderly, confirm the uphill and unpaved sections and the boarding/disembarking locations of internal transportation to ensure everyone can comfortably enjoy the scenery.

Grazing areas are not photo sets but living spaces for animals, so it’s important not to enter the fences or fly drones without permission. Heavy rain, strong winds, or fog may cause some walking paths or vehicle operations to be suspended, and in winter, freezing may change closing times. Check for notifications and road conditions on the day of your visit, and if you wish to take photos at sunset, calculate the necessary time for last entry and descent/exit backwards.
