There are many beautiful paths in our country where you can walk and reflect without going far. The trails known as 'Santiago of Korea' are beloved by walkers.

The trails and pilgrim paths that wind along coastlines, foothills, old fortress walls, and sacred sites offer the fun of completing them slowly, section by section.

This collection features representative domestic pilgrim and trail routes. Start by walking a section of the trail that’s close to you.

Jeju Olle-gil

A walking path consisting of 26 courses that circles Jeju's coastline, totaling approximately 437 km. Inspired by Santiago, it is an iconic trail that sparked a walking travel boom in Korea.

Each course offers different scenery and difficulty levels, allowing you to choose paths based on your preferences, including coast, hills, villages, and forests. Follow the blue arrows and the trail markers, and it's easy to enjoy one course (around 15 km) at a time.

Jirisan Dulle-gil

A circular walking path connecting villages and forests around Jirisan, spanning about 300 km across three provinces and five cities. Unlike climbing to the summit, this path allows you to stroll along the gentle foothills and experience the rural atmosphere.

Each section features a blend of old roads, rice paddies, and valleys, offering different attractions in each season. It’s quite popular to slowly walk one or two sections while enjoying hospitality from local guesthouses.

Haeparang-gil

A long-distance walking path that spans about 770 km along the East Coast from Busan's Oryukdo to the Unification Observatory in Goseong, Gangwon, consisting of 50 courses. The greatest charm is walking alongside the endlessly stretching East Sea.

This path offers plenty of sunrise viewpoints as it winds through beaches, ports, and pine forests. You can choose to complete the entire route or pick popular segments for day trips.

Nampa-rang-gil

A walking path connecting the southern coast from Busan to Haenam, Jeollanam-do, covering about 1,470 km with 90 courses. The unique curvy coastal scenery of Rias and fishing village views stretch endlessly.

You'll find abundant sightseeing and local delicacies as you pass through various coastal cities and islands in the Hallyeo Haesang National Park. Due to its length, it's common to enjoy it by traveling in segments.

Seohae-rang-gil

A walking path along the West Coast from the end of the land in Haenam, Jeollanam-do, to Ganghwa, Incheon, covering about 1,800 km with 109 courses, making it one of the longest walking paths in the country. Witness the unique landscape of the West Sea, with mud flats, sunsets, islands, and ports.

As a segment of the Korea Trail, many sections are calm and flat, making it less burdensome. With numerous sunset viewpoints, it's especially great for walking while enjoying the evening glow.

Bukhansan Dulle-gil

A circular forest trail connecting the foot of Bukhansan and Dobongsan, consisting of 21 sections and approximately 71 km. Since it’s a path to leisurely walk along the mountainside rather than climb to the peak, it's easy for all ages to enjoy.

Its proximity to downtown Seoul makes it highly accessible, with a variety of themes for each section. It's perfect for light strolls while enjoying nature amidst the urban environment.

Hanyang Doseong-gil

A pilgrimage course of about 18.6 km that follows the Hanyangdoseong Fortress surrounding Seoul. This path connects the four main gates and walls, allowing you to enjoy history and views right in the middle of the city.

Divided into sections around Baegak, Naksan, Namsan, and Inwangsan, there are plenty of nighttime sightseeing spots in Seoul. Each section is easy to walk independently, and it’s well-suited for those looking to take a light challenge in the city.

Ganghwa Nadeul-gil

A walking path connecting historical sites, coasts, and fields on Ganghwa Island, spanning about 310 km and featuring over 20 different courses. Experience the unique history and nature of Ganghwa, including dolmens, mountain fortresses, mudflats, and ports.

Close to the metropolitan area, it's ideal for a day trip. Each course has distinct themes, making it easy to choose between historical exploration and coastal strolls.

Sobaeksan Jarak-gil

A gentle walking path encircling Mt. Sobaek that stretches about 143 km, comprising 12 sections. Instead of steep climbs, it offers a route along old roads, villages, and valleys at the foot of the mountain, allowing you to enjoy nature.

Each section showcases natural and historical attractions like Jukgyeong Valley and Sosuseowon Confucian Academy. The gentle slopes make it easy to walk slowly, and the scenery changes beautifully in every season.

DMZ Peace Trail

A unique security and ecological walking path that traverses the border area of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). It offers a profound experience of encountering both the site of division and well-preserved nature.

Due to the military area's characteristics, it requires prior reservations, identity verification, and guided tours under restricted conditions. Be sure to check the operational sections and reservation methods before visiting to schedule your trip.

Catholic Pilgrimage Route in Seoul

A pilgrimage path of about 44 km connecting Catholic sacred sites in downtown Seoul, such as Myeongdong Cathedral and Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine. It’s a thoughtful route that allows you to walk through significant locations in Korean Catholic history, recognized as Asia's first international pilgrimage site approved by the Vatican.
