The natural surroundings of Jinju can be easily understood by dividing them into three areas: Jinyang Lake upstream of the Namgang River, Woya Mountain to the east, and the distant arboretum in Ibanseong-myeon. Jinyang Lake Park and the zoo provide both lake views and family outings, while Geumho Lake is suitable for flat riverside walks. Jinyang Lake and the forest retreat in Woya Mountain offer options for woodcraft experiences, forest education, and accommodation within a single area.
Gyeongsangnam-do Arboretum is ideal for plant observation and long walks, while the Gajwasan urban theme forest path is perfect for walking through bamboo groves close to the city. Gwangjesan is centered around beacon towers and ridge hiking, requiring more stamina and time compared to other locations.
