Forecasts Created by Observation Agencies, Ocean Buoys, Floats, and Satellites
The equatorial Pacific is so vast that a single ship or satellite cannot assess its condition. The NOAA Climate Prediction Center releases ENSO diagnostics by synthesizing sea temperature, wind, precipitation, and models, while the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory tracks changes in the sea surface and underwater via the TAO buoy array.
