Typhoon damage often begins with small neglects around the house, not just the big accidents seen on the news. Items that seem harmless like balcony pots, loose screens, clogged drains, and rooftop objects can become hazards in strong winds and heavy rains.

This list compiles items that should be checked inside and outside your home after a typhoon forecast is issued. Since external inspections can be dangerous once the rain starts, it's best to divide roles with your family and check during daylight before the wind picks up.
