Apple Activities and Sights to Pick at the Cheongsong Apple Festival

Nov. 4-8, 2026: 7 signature programs, from Apple Nanta to the parade

The 20th Cheongsong Apple Festival runs from November 4 to 8, 2026, around Hyeonbiam on Yongjeoncheon Stream in Cheongsong-eup. We have gathered seven signature programs that general visitors can enjoy, from activities where you bang on and stack apples to balloon events, a parade by local residents, and traditional contests.

We have separated events held only on weekends and activities whose sessions differ by date. Because some times differ between the official program descriptions and the full timetable, we give the times that match and mark the conflicting sessions as needing on-site confirmation. First pick two or three activities for the day you visit.
2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Fun Apple Nanta

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Fun Apple Nanta

If you want to move around energetically with apples, pick Fun Apple Nanta (꿀잼 사과난타). It is a participation program in which you bang apples in a pouch with a bat fitted with a pedometer, and rankings are set by the number of hits. The official 2026 notice gives start times of 3:30 p.m. on November 4, 4 p.m. on the 5th, noon on the 6th and 7th, and 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the 8th. There is a chance to take part every day of the festival, but it is not held at the same time each day, so it is better to fit your visit date first.

Registration is listed as first come, first served in front of the auxiliary stage. Rather than assuming you can join right after a session starts, check how waiting and registration work first. It is an activity done to music, so choose it for the time you spend taking part yourself rather than for results or prizes. If you are with children, ask at the booth about the tools used and the ages allowed. Alternating it with crafts or watching a performance lets you balance moving around and resting.
2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Find the Golden Apple

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Find the Golden Apple

If you want to see the festival's signature apple balloon scene, put Find the Golden Apple in your plan. It is a participation program where you look for the golden apple among balloons falling from the sky, and the official description presents it as an activity for all ages. The 2026 schedule starts at 3 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Friday and Sunday. No session is listed for this program on November 4, the first day of the festival, so it is better to combine it with other activities to fit your visit date.

Registration is stated to be first come, first served in front of the apple balloon in the venue. Rather than thinking of it as a reservation program that guarantees a place, first see whether on-site registration is available. The routes can also differ for people who want to watch from outside the event area and those who want to take part directly. If you are with children, decide on a meeting spot before it starts and move as the host explains. We cannot promise that you will find the golden apple or receive a prize, but you can choose it as an experience of enjoying the festival scene of balloons falling together.
2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Challenge Apple Sorting Lotto

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Challenge Apple Sorting Lotto

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Challenge: Apple Sorting Lotto

If you are curious about an event comparing numbers you picked yourself with the numbers of real apples, look at the Challenge: Apple Sorting Lotto. You choose five numbers from 1 to 30 on an activity sheet and see how many match the numbers drawn by an apple sorting machine. The official description explains it as an event where you receive a prize depending on how many you match. Rather than interpreting it as a service where you pay to buy a lottery ticket, understand it as a festival participation program that uses apple sorting.

Even within this year's official materials, the draw time does not match. The program page gives 5 p.m. every day, but the full timetable lists 4 p.m. from November 4 to 7 and 5 p.m. on the 8th. So put only the date of this activity in your schedule, and check the draw time and the entry sheet registration conditions at the information center on the day of your visit. Do not expect to automatically get a prize once you submit your numbers; it is good to look at the event rules. Try planning to enjoy other activities and come back in time for the draw.

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Apple Olympics

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Apple Olympics

If you want to add a small contest to the pleasure of eating apples, pick the Apple Olympics. The official program introduces events such as peeling an apple in the longest strip, guessing sugar content, and stacking high. It takes place at the small performance stage in the festival grounds, with sessions at 2 p.m. on November 4, 4 p.m. on the 6th, 11 a.m. on the 7th, and 4 p.m. on the 8th. Thursday's session is not included in this notice, so it is better to set your schedule separately from the standing activities that run every day.

Participation is stated as on-site, first-come registration. First check which events are actually being held, how much time they need, and the ages allowed. For the apple peeling activity in particular, listen to how the tools are used and pick the event that suits you. Watching while talking about who in the family would do better is also entertaining. It may overlap in time with other signature activities, so instead of forcing yourself to enter everything, focus on one contest you are interested in and adjust the remaining performances and mealtimes around it.
2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Cheongsong Apple Parade

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Cheongsong Apple Parade

If you want to see the festival atmosphere that local residents make themselves, look for the Cheongsong Apple Parade on Saturday morning. It is a program introduced as a contest-style procession staged and joined by residents. This year's notices agree on a 10 a.m. start on November 7, so if the parade is your goal, you could plan to arrive a little early on Saturday. Unlike a performance where you stay seated in front of a stage, it is an activity where you watch scenes moving through the festival grounds.

However, the end time is shown as 11:30 a.m. on the Cheongsong County tourism page and noon on the festival website. Check the exact end time and the procession route at the information center on the day. When choosing where to watch, leave the participants' path clear, and even when taking photos, it is better not to step into the procession. In the afternoon, the flower-rope weaving or the Golden Apple program follows, so you can pick resident events and activities together. Rather than following the whole procession, choose a stretch that fits your companions' stamina.

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Cheongsong Apple Flower Rope Weaving National Contest

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Cheongsong Apple Flower Rope Weaving National Contest

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Cheongsong Apple Flower-Rope Weaving National Contest

If you want to see colorful ropes turn into a single pattern, pick the Cheongsong Apple Flower-Rope Weaving National Contest. It is a group program in which participants hold ropes and walk around a pole, weaving a pattern. This year's notice says it starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, at the auxiliary stage in the festival grounds. It connects well with a flow of watching the apple parade in the morning, eating, and then watching the traditional contest. Enjoy it as time to meet the region's cooperation and handiwork on stage.

It is better not to take the word contest to mean the same thing as an on-the-spot activity. If you want to enter yourself, ask the organizers whether there is separate entry registration, and general visitors can plan around watching. The official timetable gives a 5 p.m. end and the program description a 6 p.m. end, so if you plan to watch to the end, check how it goes on site. Pay attention to how the pattern is made, but choose a spot that keeps the performance area and the walkways apart. Deciding how long you need to watch with your companions in advance makes it easy to combine with other activities.
2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Demonstration of Escorting Origin-Labeling Violators to the Uigeumbu

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Demonstration of Escorting Origin-Labeling Violators to the Uigeumbu

2026 Cheongsong Apple Festival Demonstration of Escorting Country-of-Origin Labeling Violators to the Uigeumbu

If you want a theatrical scene at an apple festival, look at the Demonstration of Escorting Country-of-Origin Labeling Violators to the Uigeumbu (the royal tribunal of the Joseon era). It is a performance that stages the act of mislabeling the origin of Cheongsong apples as a punishment scene from the Joseon era. The official description presents it not as an actual punishment event but as a demonstration showing the importance of the country of origin. It takes place around the festival grounds, and the 1 p.m. session on Friday, November 6, is shown the same in the materials for this year that we checked.

The weekend start times differ by source. Saturday is listed as either 2 p.m. or 3 p.m., and Sunday as either 1 p.m. or 3 p.m., so if you visit on those dates, recheck the session and the demonstration location at the information center. If you watch the moving scene, it is better to choose your viewing area by following the host's route. Going over the meaning of the story with your child can turn it into an experience of remembering where apples come from and the name of the region. Use it as a choice for fitting one short performance between other activities.
If you like active experiences, pick Apple Nanta or the Apple Olympics; if you would rather watch and feel the festival atmosphere, pick the parade and flower-rope weaving. After checking the registration times for the signature events, it is a good idea to leave room for meals and rest.

The guidance follows the official 2026 materials, and the item images are materials for the official program introductions. Check at the festival information center on the day of your visit the on-site registration, costs, conditions for claiming prizes, and the session times that are listed differently.
