The greenery of Boseong changes again on the azalea ridge and deep forest trails

Boseong's mountains are known for their spring azaleas, but each season offers different photographic materials. Comparing the open ridges of Illimsan and Choamsan, the rocks and ocean views of Obongsan, the recreation forest of Jeamsan, and the deep forests of Hwal-seong Fortress and Yunjelim reveals that even the same shade of green can create entirely different visuals depending on height, tree species, and light direction.

This list selects eight actual mountain, forest, and temple locations. During the azalea season, check for trail congestion and parking restrictions, and it's efficient to group Daewonsa and the Tibet Museum as a separate itinerary in Mundeok-myeon. Make sure to check for wildfire restrictions and sunset times, and avoid entering non-public areas outside the ridges or forests for photography. Checking the latest operating information and weather before your visit will give you time to consider your composition on site.

When in the mountains, let's capture not just the summit certification but also the beginning of the forest paths, the light peeking through the trees, and the moments the ridges open up, in chronological order. Including people small in the azalea colonies can showcase their scale, and a vertical composition works well in the Japanese cedar woods. On cloudy days, it's also nice to capture the hues of wet trees and stones up close.

Jeamsan and Illimsan are in the west, Obongsan is in Deugnyang-myeon, Choamsan and Yunjelim are in the northeast, and Daewonsa is in the northern part of Mundeok-myeon, creating a large divergence in routes.
