Traveling to Seogwipo's Oreums and Wetlands from Mulyeongari to Geunseom-i Oreum

The oreums (volcanic hills) in the central region of Seogwipo offer much more than just a height comparison. Mulyeongari is a Ramsar wetland that preserves a wetland within a crater, while Yeongcheonak and Gogeunsan connect the forest with the city of Seogwipo close by. Gunsan Oreum in Andeok provides a broad view of the southwestern coast and Sanbangsan Mountain, and Geunseom-i Oreum in Pyoseon takes you on a gentle ridge walk surrounded by grassy landscapes and silver grass.

Red Oreum Recreational Forest is an option to experience the central forest through walking paths and forest activities, whether you're staying overnight or not. The six locations are arranged to help you observe the differences between the crater, wetland, grassy areas, and forests instead of focusing solely on climbing records. Parking and entry points may not be clearly marked at each oreum, and some sections may adjoin private lands, so it's important to stick to the official trails.

The wetland at Mulyeongari, the grassy expanse of Geunseom-i Oreum, the urban views from Gogeunsan, and the coastal outlook from Gunsan Oreum all show that the central region of Seogwipo is not a uniform landscape.
