Paju from the End of the Bogwangsa Forest Trail to Yongmiri
An Outskirts Trip Combining Temples, Stone Buddhas, Goryeo Ruins, and Cafés Serving Bori-gulbi, Tofu, and Forest Views
Since the temple and burial sites are places for worship and ritual, different viewing etiquette is required compared to regular tourist spots, and Hye eumwonji is an outdoor site that is greatly affected by the weather. Instead of trying to see all five sites, pick two or three places of interest and connect the dining spots and cafés along Bogwang-ro and Hye eum-ro in the same direction. The valley is not a recreational water area, and you should check the opening hours of the cultural heritage and the parking location on the day of your visit.

Be mindful of maintaining quiet and not disturbing worship services while at the temple, avoid touching cultural properties, and do not cross designated lines. In the valley and forest trails, watch for slippery areas and falling rocks, and be sure not to leave any trash. Certain stretches of the outskirts road lack adequate nighttime lighting, so it’s advisable to finish your main sightseeing before sunset. Checking the latest opening information and operational hours will help secure a peaceful day.
