Exploring the Neighborhood Scenery in Ok-am, Yonghae, and Sangdong
The natural scenery of Mokpo goes beyond just Yu-dalsan and Gatbawi. The waterfront of Ok-am and Buhungsan, the entrance mount of Yonghae-dong, and the living parks in Yeonsan and Sangdong are all closely connected to modern buildings, gentle hills, and small water bodies. By following the paths walked by residents, you can experience a comfortable season in Mokpo, far removed from typical tourist spots.
This list excludes the previously introduced Samhakdo Park and Nojeokbong Art Park, focusing instead on the actual parks in the eastern and northern living areas. Each location has been described with its unique role—like water reflections, city views, flowers and autumn leaves, and family recreation spaces—to avoid repetitive descriptions of similar parks. If you want to capture a different expression of Mokpo, Buhungsan is the place to go. From its low ridge, a view overlooking Ok-am and Namak provides a wide photo of the city blending with fields. The suggested time is before sunset when visibility is clear. Check the hiking trails and descent points while it’s still bright, and avoid entering private paths. Keeping a few steps away from your subject in the background and capturing with a focal range of about 2x will minimize distortion in the lines of architecture and landscape.

Ipal Mountain
Ipal Mountain is a great place to capture both broad views and small details. By framing Hadan City and the sea between rocks and forests, you can read Mokpo's geography in three dimensions. The best time to visit is in the late afternoon when the atmosphere is clear. Be cautious of rocky areas and slopes, and prepare lighting for post-sunset hiking.
