The Cityscape of Asan Changes at Every Train Stop

The railway scenery of Asan ranges widely, from the large structure of Cheonan-Asan Station to the small platform of the old Janghang Line's ungated station. Even photos from the same station reveal the city's expansion and changes in transportation methods when comparing glass facades, elevated tracks, and the spaciousness of terminal stations with the surrounding fields of closed stations.

This list includes seven selected actual and closed stations, excluding the Onyang Oncheon Station and Dogo Oncheon Station that were part of the first Asan photo list. When visiting the operating stations, adhere to safety lines and access regulations, and use only publicly accessible areas at closed stations. The methods of capturing architecture and surrounding scenery have also been organized for each station. Instead of just capturing the trains, railway photos come alive when the structure of the station, the direction of the tracks, and the city or fields in front are shown together. At the five operating stations, choose locations that don’t disturb moving people, and at Hakseong Station and Seonjang Station, calmly document the remaining traces and the relationship with the surrounding towns.

Cheonan-Asan, Asan, Baebang, and Tangjeong stations are easily accessible by public transport, but for the old stations after Sinchang, vehicle access and site verification are required. Instead of trying to visit all in one day, splitting them into eastern new city and western Janghang Line areas allows time to wait for light. Above all, avoid photographing inside the tracks or restricted areas.
